    This may be one of the few sensible things written on RCP 8.5: (1) It recognize the good faith reasons why it was so widely used previously (2) It offers a thoughtful critique and suggestions for the best way to use it moving forward Nicely done,

    Just out: "Happily — and that’s a word we climatologists rarely get to use — the world imagined in RCP8.5 [the scenario formerly known as BAU] is one that, in our view, becomes increasingly implausible with every passing year."

    Yes, looks like a great set of papers on climate change, ecosystem effects, and solutions (full disclosure: co-author on one of them). Am starting my downloads now.

    Great set of papers on critical topic of ecological effects of climate change. Nice content for lab meetings or a graduate seminar. All are open access for 2 weeks!

    I'm deeply troubled by the piece. It's not peer-reviewed research and is sponsored by an organization ("Breakthrough Institute") with a known climate-dismissive agenda:
