This was a well put-together video. Only thing I find strange is that you guys still support MattsWhatItIs, when he’s literally been found making videos asking young girls to be in adult videos with him. He hurts your cause A LOT.

And I understand how YTers reacting negatively to people attacking advertisers, and by extension, their livelihoods makes you think they care more about making money than protecting children, but when did those two options become mutually exclusive?

Imagine after years of struggling to find work, you ended up working in a McDonalds, but customer started taking advantage of less-able customers and stealing their food. Would you work with the store to find a solution? Or try and have the store lose all income and shut down?

And if you then said “Hey. Don’t shut this place down. This is my livelihood. Solve the problem. Don’t bury us for it!” would it be okay for people to tell you you ONLY care about your money, and not protecting the blind customers?

YouTube creators DO care about children being safe online, but it’s more than acceptable for people to put paying their rent and bills as their top priority. You can’t help a cause if you don’t have a life, and just because you want to pay your bills, doesn’t mean you don’t care.

This is the problem that Matt taking advantage of your hashtag to gain notoriety caused. Your message is pure. Your intentions are admirable, but Matt took that messageto gain attention for himself and to hurt people who succeeded on a platform he couldn’t.

#YouTubeWakeUp is a very important cause and@TeamYouTube should be doing everything the can to protect children, but Matt has posted himself as a representative that has threatened innocent people’s livelihoods, which damages your overall voice. He’s done more harm than good.2 replies 0 retweets 1 like
And as a youtuber i'm sure you can do more about these very serious problems than just tag teamyoutube into them. Infact you should be demanding that YT do something more about it because if they don't, it could threaten your livelihood.
