Image includes text of statement from the Greater Washington DC Chapter of the Internet Society. It reads: ISOC-DC stands with the Black community against the systemic racism, injustice, and senseless acts of violence that they have faced too often and for too long.

The Internet acts as a lens through which we view the world. It is a powerful mechanism to expose bias, inequity, and violence. ISOC-DC pledges to defend and grow the Internet, not for the sake of the technology itself, but for those who use it to better their lives and stand up for what’s right.

We will continue to work to strengthen the Internet, expand access, and ensure that people are able to communicate, organize, and exercise their freedom of expression freely and safely.
