I will honestly admit, when I first started seeing these threads, my initial reaction was, "Here we go…” But thank you to you and @punctum_books for forcing those of us coming from a perspective of privilege and whiteness to see the term “Anglo-Saxon” for what it truly is:

problematic both in how it is being used and, more importantly, *why* it was/is being used. We, as medievalists, get up-in-arms when people refer to the “Renaissance” or “Dark Ages” for reasons that are beyond trivial in comparison.
