Let's say you have a society that combats all forms of degeneracy, but isn't centered on the nation-state (example: radical Islam) Vs a society that is heavily nationalist but devoid of traditionalist policy. Which would you rather live in?
Tradition without nationalism I dont think would stand the test of time

That depends. I don't think a nation-state of machines in the year 2350 will need our traditions, but they might still see themselves as a tribe (which is a much more constant historical phenomena than any particular set of traditions).

There are certainly common pro-family traditions that existed in past societies for very good reasons, but changes in technology tend to change the character of norms. Post-industrial revolution societies don't need the same set of norms as pastoral societies and so on.
