1.Develop tailor-made approaches: Reintegration concerns all areas of life & reintegration assistance needs to take a comprehensive approach. Reintegration assistance cannot be one-dimensional, but needs to take into consideration economic, social and psychosocial aspects.
2.Involve communities. Reintegration actors need to also respond to priorities of communities and local development plans. This can prevent tensions between returnees and communities of return and ensure that the benefits of return & reintegration can be harnessed for development
3.Mainstream reintegration into other sectors: Reintegration and development issues are deeply interlinked. In order to address both simultaneously, policies and programming in the various sectors needs to consider the particular situations faced by (returning) migrants.
