This just proves the lengths @Momentum_za go to avoid paying out claims! There was no reason to check medical history for a gunshot related death except to avoid paying out! Immoral, glad I’m not a Momentum customer!

I'm going to have to call Momentum on Monday. I have so many questions
-
Like why they only check these things after taking the premiums when it is time for them to pay out maybe?

-
Precisely that. I was never requested to go for any medical when taking life insurance for my bond..What Will that mean?
-
If you don’t do medicals wen taking out life cover it means that the policy will be underwritten at claim stage and the insurer can chose to repudiate the claim just like in this instance
-
Interesting read here..... Insurance companies should be responsible for ensuring terms are explained. If they don't do checks at the start how do they decide if it is pre-existing?
https://www.iol.co.za/personal-finance/columnists/bruce-cameron/disclose-all-when-taking-out-a-life-policy-1549832 … -
So at application stage a clients get 2 chose to if they are taking out an underwritten policy or a non-underwritten, in some cases it happens that the client is uninsurable and the insurer will only offer the client a non-underwritten policy
-
Pre-existing conditions are ditected if the client opt to take out an underwritten policy and the insurer can chose 2 load the premiums or decline the application. But for a non-underwritten policy it’s different rules

Now that Momentum claims to have not entered into a contract with Nathan on grounds of sugar levels, they must pay back all premiums received unduly from Nathan

@Allife rejected my mother's claim because she passed away from diabetes complications which they knew about. Yet they still advertise that they cater for HIV and diabetes. -
-
And you will half of the money
? Or how much do you take from that ? Or let me put it this way. How many percent do you charge from a 2,4mill case ? -

-
Hi Karabo. Not at all. They request 10% of the final settlement.
