He slid the gun across the pavement and one of the militia stepped on it to hide it (see 0:08 to 0:12). At 0:11 you can see it behind bicycle wheel.pic.twitter.com/6KFhn3Y2KL
He slid it away so when the police arrived, he could be taken into custody without incident. The other put his foot on it to secure it. If they wanted to hide it, the other would have picked it up and actually hid it.

yep that's what i saw too. the NMCM member keeping the weapon safe until the cops could arrive. I'm not at all a fan of militia groups and not a fan of intimidating peaceful protestors by displaying arms... but after the shots were fired, the militia group were the best behaved.
