Now, small producers can sell their products collectively at better prices and have increased their profits, they are in charge of marketing their crops outside the tomato season.

The alliance between IICA and Bayer provided approximately 200 tomato growers with training in theuse of safe and efficient pesticides and knowledge in land and water management. They were also trained in sustainable agricultural practices to address and cope with climate change.

A coordinated approach and focused interventions with the local producers of Caaguazú made them aware of the benefits of implementing new practices assisted by Bayer seeds, crop protection and digital technologies.

For a long time, tomato producers from Caaguazú in Paraguay faced difficulties such as seasonal production only in the months of August and October, huge fluctuations in prices, and also the clandestine entry of tomatoes from neighboring countries.
