    These brave women and men of color love their jobs, but work grueling hours just to put food on the table, and eventually leave to be firefighters or work for another municipal service at higher pay, leaving New Yorkers lives in the hands of less skilled/experienced responders.

    Our City doesn't value all its emergency first responders equally. The 4,000 members are overworked and grossly underpaid by tens of thousands of dollars despite diving headfirst into danger 24/7 to deliver immediate lifesaving medical care to 8M New Yorkers.
