Agreed. This definitely keeps me up at night. So much of what’s made this country special stems from the fact that it’s the place that the most enterprising minds around the world desire to go to. If America loses that, it loses a heck of a lot.

It is interesting to consider the likely non-linear upsides of high concentrations of smart / driven people balanced against the at least partially zero-sum game of depriving other parts of the world of them. Optimistic-me thinks net positive for all, but others could differ.

Lots of questions packed in one tweet. Some markets/industries are coupled with geographies and your chances improve by proximity - take movies, while you can film anywhere being in LA makes it easy to find screenwriters, editors, lighting, camera rental, casting, and so on.

As for fixing it, I don’t think there is a silver bullet, but rather a patchwork of solutions that can help. Some include local funds/incentives others include development funds towards poorer regions.

I often am envious of Germany in that they have a plethora of high skill demand all across their land even small towns. Don't know which policies they've applied to make this work but it is a stark contrast vs. Spain or UK where all activity has gravitated towards few big cities
I try to give back by: staying connected, recruiting, inspire, mentoring. However, this won’t move the needle. It’s not even a tech problem since there are more pressing local issues to fix first. Would help if all nations understand we live in a global world and act like such.
