I remember in elementary school on the Navajo reservation, Navajo Codetalkers would tell their stories about WW2. They would listen to the radio stations talking about the war in Europe. Even though their language was beaten out of them in boarding schools, they still spoke it..

I am sure that experience gives the Navajo an understanding, far greater than other people, of how very important the revival of Hebrew was to the Jewish State! The indigenous Jewish people needed to throw off Arab colonialism and re-establish Jewish self determination.
