If every incel somehow got a girlfriend, the net violence in the world would only go up. Because guys who think like this are violent to their girlfriends. It's not their singleness that's dangerous; it's the way they think about women.

An interesting point of view, this would suggest women can neither be violent towards men, nor can they be "incel". But yeah, other than the sexism in this Tweet, I agree.

The tweet suggests nothing of the sort. Stating that men are one thing does not automatically then mean it is saying women aren’t. It’s actual incels themselves who think women can’t be incels and any women trying are banned from site.

Also an interesting view, but if that is what is inferred here, it's only about women with a girlfriend and a hostile attitude towards women. No matter how many times I read this Tweet, the text simply overrules any subtext people try to interpret from it.

It only needs to be about men (these men) and their relationship with women because that’s the intended topic. Why try & derail that? It’s not sexist to not talk about women here. I’m reading no subtext..you’re the one inferring that talking about 🍏 means no one acknowledges 🍐

I'm not trying to derail anything, but it would be nice if every once in a while people would acknowledge that it's not just these men (also thank you for including the these part), but there's also these women. Discrimination works both ways, is me point.

Forgive me for now definitely going off track now, but I generally try to avoid these kinds of things as they're just laced with hatred towards one social group or another. This one just happened to make its way into my TL, and I wanted to share my point of view on the Tweet.

That’s not been my experience. In fact I’ve been participating in a week long child sexual abuse and exploitation awareness campaign..nothing aimed in any direction. Simply spreading practical tips and experience. Unless by social group you mean sexual predators

Women aren’t the ones running people over in vans, committing mass shootings, or various other acts of terrorism because they feel entitled to another persons body or, as a group, holding violent beliefs against another gendered people. You’re missing the point. Wake up.

Just because they don't occur in your timeline doesn't mean that they don't happen. Just because one guy decided it was ok to drive a van into an audience doesn't mean all MEN are doing that. It's always easy to paint off the white man as a bad guy. No, no one said that this was an “all men” thing. This whole thread is talking about a violent group of radicalized men who use the term “incel” to identify themselves. Also, Fox News is an extremely biased “news source”. Just because some shootings have been perpetrated by 1/

News flash - ALL news sources are biased. They will report what will get them views. School shootings by women or specific other social groups just don't incite the outrage this does.

It isn't. In fact, the term was literally devised by a queer woman to describe herself.

Yeah, but it's been taken up by a specific ideological group to describe themselves. Those are the people we're talking about, not everyone who wants sex but isn't getting it.

You do realize that can be seriously confusing, right? I mean, this is effectively just a sub-group of incels that refer to themselves as incel. That's like a subgroup of people from a country calling themselves by that nationality.

I've never heard any other group call themselves an Incel. But like I said, come up with another term for it and I'll totally be on board.

The term “incel” was actually created by a woman - it was then stolen and bastardized by a male-only internet movement. It’s not just a word, it’s a hate movement against women and PoC. There’s no other side to this very specific topic.

The male incels movement have actually claimed that women cannot be incels unless if they are severely disabled. Women who claim to be incels are lying. So this is tweet is correct in focusing on men, because that it what the movement itself focuses on.

In my observation, usually women who are involuntarily celibate are just encouraged to see themselves as ugly and worthless. Violence against men, if any one social group can be said to propagate it, usually falls into the camp of extreme radical feminism.

Incels is a group of men, there is no women in the incel community because they hate women so much that they think a woman can never feel rejection or loneliness because they mind control normies into loving them with make up or whatever.
