I partly agree to some extend. Getting 1k subs and 4000 hours of view time isnt the biggest deal imo. I'd even debate that if you're starting a new channel, you might be doing your audience a favour by not having ads on your vids xD
I havent personally made a lot, at all, in the past 6 months, and it probably would not have made a difference for my personally if i had turned off my ads. Could imagine it would have been much more pleasureable for my viewers though etc
