Game Warden Jake Rowland (left) got a call about an injured bald eagle (right) near Checotah. The eagle seemed pretty lively when Jake arrived but clearly had a wing injury. After a few minutes of “catch me if you can," Jake was able to wrap the eagle in an appropriate blanket--

Oklahoma Game Warden Jake Rowland (pictured left) sends a selfie with a bald eagle (pictured right) wrapped in a blanket. The eagle is not that happy.
When working class kids + grown-ups are being made very poorly by the horrible state of the UK housing stock, it is beyond belief that serious commentators in the built environment are calling to reduce demolitions. 50,000 is not nearly enough for everyone to enjoy nice housing.

The obliteration of 50,000 British buildings a year is disgraceful – a pattern of myopic greed and unthinking vandalism that is wiping out our heritage while tearing apart communities and accelerating climate breakdown. I wrote about demolition. theguardian.com/commentisfree/

Tyler James Hoare’s art was designed to be as impermanent as life itself. But he didn’t care that it washed into the sea - he knew the lasting power of symbols and memories. The OG Emeryville shoreline sculptor is gone. #RIP to a Bay legend. ✈️💯🙏🏼 sfchronicle.com/eastbay/articl

The record jobs growth of the last two years isn’t just about recovering pandemic losses: We’re now 2.7M jobs above the pre-Covid payrolls peak. For comparison: at this point post-Great Recession, we were still 7.5M jobs *below* '07 levels.

We've already seen streamers and other mid-tier micro-celebs have very-close-to-realistic A.I. porn made of them and passed off as real. And in a world where so many people have an OnlyFans, a lot of people wouldn't even question the veracity. Kinda sucks.

The political system loves measuring policies by jobs. But outside recessions that makes little sense. If you announce a new factory will create 5,000 jobs at $150,000 a year there is virtually no chance those are net new jobs--those people would have been employed anyway.

The president of the United States, known for his desire to jail journalists and tear gas peaceful protesters, was regularly trying to get tweets deleted. And these Twitter Files dorks run around like anything they've selectively revealed matters compared to that..

Folks, the last time we let a Yalie into the White House he let Osama bin Laden get away, invaded Iraq for no reason, and the whole world economy collapsed. He also tried to privatize social security and a mid-sized American city was destroyed in a hurricane. Just say no.
