(A) Sci is harder than phil, but phil is more important than sci. (B) Phil is harder & more important than sci. (C) Phil is harder than sci, but sci is more important than phil. (D) Sci is harder & more important than phil.

Hardness may be a scientific question, but perhaps only insofar as its operationalization into a measurable variable requires the collection of empirical data. But insofar as criterial determinations of measurement involve normative considerations, the question is philosophical.

It's entirely unclear to me what 'harder' and 'important' mean in this context. Is the heart 'more important' than the lungs - given that you die if either fail? Does the heart 'work harder' than the lungs, given that they're doing utterly different things?

Harder: most difficult discipline in which to make a significant contribution. Most Important: most conducive to human flourishing.
