We anticipate ECRA will pass the House and reach the President's desk, becoming law soon after. This historic legislation will solidify the will of the people in choosing their president, and we are proud to have played our part in seeing it pass in the Senate today.

The bill also specifies that only a state's governor, or another official designated by law, would be allowed to submit election results.

ECRA would make it harder for lone lawmakers to interfere with the process, by requiring approval of one-fifth of the House and Senate to consider a challenge to a state's results.

Here's how ECRA protects American democracy: The legislation would clarify that vice presidents only play a ceremonial role when Congress tallies the state-by-state election results and certifies the outcome.

BREAKING: In a rare bipartisan win, the Senate just voted to include the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act in the omnibus spending package. The amendment passed 73 to 24. This has been a years-long fight to guarantee basic accommodations for pregnant workers. It's a very big deal.
