    If patients have been able to download health information since 2010 and share with anybody on the internet since 2017, then why did I just pay $147 for medical records and then lug them in my carry on half way across the country to a specialist?

    Everyone should be concerned. Epic handles more patient data than any other platform. They want to prevent us from accessing, controlling, and governing what is rightfully (by law) ours. Epic is the OS of hospitals and is as closed source as it gets. Cc

    Epic is taking the side that they don’t believe your health care data is YOURS. They want to help hospitals BLOCK your ability to take it where it needs to go. This will prevent the care people deserve. For example coordination of care for cancer patients. Rare disease and more

    Patients can speak for themselves. And they have. They want easier access to THEIR OWN data. They want the CMS and ONC rules finalized. Epic, it's fine to represent your own interests. But please don't claim to speak for patients.

    Meet my monthly Kaiser bill! $1439.13 and we have a $7000 deductible. Tough to be a founder of my own company and also paying +$2000/month for childcare on top of this! Imagine how much more healthcare I could fix if I had just a little break from these.

    I choked up when I saw it and still do looking at the picture. That’s such a huge amount!

    A friend wrote this yesterday and I literally can’t even. This is what he pays MONTHLY for health insurance. This would buy, monthly: - a first class ticket to Hawaii - a lease on a Tesla - a mortgage in some paces - a legal defense for someone seeking asylum How is this ok?!
