So why do other countries administer Pfizer after 21 days and not 8? Are they all wrong? The US, NZ, Australia, Spain to name a few. Is it better to let people risk getting the delta variant while they wait 8 weeks to get their second jab?

Even countries with few Covid cases (meaning no rush to do 2nd dose - eg Hong Kong) do 3 weeks.

Given the choice between pretty much definitely getting Covid in this wave while partially vaccinated, or getting an early 2nd dose, I know which one most sensible people would take. If they wanted people to wait longer then the govt should have allowed the road map.

Isn’t literally every country on earth doing both jabs within less than 8 weeks..

My Ozford-AstraXenica injections (in UK) were 79 days apart; the smallest gap I was allowed. It may have changed since then.

I think "definitely" is a very bold claim here, as I don't think there's any head-to-head evidence comparing different dosing gaps for efficacy, and it has to be balanced against the pretty high risk of getting Covid over the next month if you've only had 1 dose

But CDC recommendation in the US is 21 day interval between doses of Pfizer , and a maximum of 6 weeks. So this doesn’t make much sense, is someone completely wrong here?
