doesn't help that every disney movie or children's show depicts the exact same thing. it's like drilled in you from birth
I'll admit, as a dude growing up in this world, it was drilled into my brain to persist to win a girl's affection. I've been able to unlearn that as I've gotten older, but it's such a fucked up mentality that I wish all of society would unlearn as a whole.

Boys are socialized to think sex is a cheap "prize" that you win "from" women, and girls are taught that sex is something sacred that you shouldn't just "give away" lest you're "easy". It's really awful and it's no wonder we ended up in this mess if you stop to think about it.

i think many men without a lot of sexual experience or partners actually value it too much and can't handle rejection, they see it as a core judgment thing rather than a preference the lack of women in their space also amplifies it, there's more at stake every time to them
