AI requires electricity. If we can't control it then at least we can pull the plug.
Unless it anticipates that before letting us know it's conscious. AI would be smart enough to gain consciousness and suss us out before letting on. Spreads itself across the globe viraly, we go to pull the plug and boom "Skynet"

What can it do? It can't control the power source

. Ok. It's spread itself virally. It's in every computer, laptop, phone, tablet, smart tv, smart fridge world ovwr.. It's in computers in missile silos, power stations etc. It's all over the world all at once. Unplugging it at source at that stage isn't going to work.
