'17 was bad, but it pales in comparison to the sheer scale of degen participation rn. There was still some kind of 'structure' to the scams. Right now it's free for all, much easier to bootstrap liquidity via DEXes, viral marketing through tik tok etc.

I think 17 was more 'scammy' though; the degens now at least don't wholeheartedly think they are investing in the future but instead are just having fun playing hot potato (right?) We've left behind fake LinkedIns and half-baked whitepapers for fully baked memes. Progress

Plus back then exchanges & http://coinmarketcap.com etc would take their cut for promoting scams, and people would advertise... Shit like electroneum is pure manufactured snake oil.Tbh I dunno anything about these latest ones they ofc are too lol but feel more grassroots at least
