I don't think there needs to be an official contract drawn up for every such deal. They're binding nonetheless. Not legal advice.

This. I'd imagine the speed at which things evolve in crypto makes it nearly impossible to get proper docs on both sides completed in time. A lot of this is prob on good faith and in an ecosystem with a material amount of scammers aggressive action is reasonable.
