All the more worse if you're a LTF trader, or particularly used to fading/playing mean reversion strats. The high volatility makes you undermine the loss of every trade, since you'll just "make it up" on the next due to the abundant opportunities, by taking on more risk. Death.
It's been one of my greatest pitfalls and something that still creeps up from time to time One can set daily limits for drawdown, lost trades, etc. but they're temporary solutions to a more permanent problem imo. You still need to cultivate the discipline to enforce those rules.
