Twitter can be incredibly helpful when you're following the right people.
Bitcoin longs did this a few days ago too, causing sharp dump to avoid funding & immediate buy-back after.

how is it profitable to dump your longs ( we are talking about very large positions) and risk losing 1-2% ( on leverage) instead of just losing 0.1-04%
Ascertaining why this plays out like it does is futile imo. Firstly, due to information asymmetry, and secondly we're assuming the party in question is acting solely on Bitmex. I try not to get too bogged down by the why, and pay more attention to what actually is transpiring.

i tend to believe more in bitmex ( and other exchanges ) knows exactly where the stops are and what is profitable to do... and after two and a half days of sideways its time to, at the very least, do a darth maul
