Bitmex is a peer to peer exchange. Longs and shorts are always equal. What you see on coinfarm is a longs/shorts ratio of positions sourced from the trollbox. Next person to comment "hurr durr longs on Bitmex are so high" will be forced to watch a Tone Vays stream.

Come on, are you serious, and do I really need to say this? You are of course right on the coinfarm & trollbox issue, but longs / shorts ratio is not and cannot be equal at all times -- although every sell is a buy; there are liquidations, closes, etc.
