What I really want to know is why they're bothering to push for users so hard when almost everyone on here seems to be affiliated with them already.

That's why we're offering AMM. It gives users a way to make money while the market is inefficient and makes the market healthier. We want to align incentives with users to reach scale and be the cheapest, easiest exchange.
