They don't "have" to, price just tends to fill a gap if price is already in its vicinity, especially if price is rangebound on a macro scale ($3000 - $4000)

what about year old gaps?There is a known account that insists all gaps will be filled eventually no matter what. I personally cannot understand this concept of unfilled price ranges since I dont expect the trade orders to have remained a place/not cancelled after all this time.
