I marked out a similar chart recently. Marking monday’s to see if we pump or dump that day. Over 70% of the time we dump on Monday
I wanted to see if there's any basis to the bloody Monday phenomenon and although this is an extremely small sample size, it's definitely interesting.
@quantfiction , perhaps you could cook something up to add credibility to this? Avg. performance sorted by day of the week?

Not sure if my tweet where I said "bloody Monday" sparked any curiosity but if it did, I didn't mean it like it was some phenomenon. I just meant I think we go down tomorrow because the signs would be there haha. Curious of your post though. Certainly seems something in it hey

My thought is that institutions use the low liquidity of the weekend to pump the price so that they can dump on retail Monday.

We evolutionary optimize our algos each week and found that doing it on mondays gives the best performance. We also found this is only the case in 2018, prior it does not make a difference. Professional traders vs weekend warriors?
