So, your negative income tax proposal have a benefit cliff that is effectively a 100% tax on poor people's take home income under the poverty line. Please use a smaller clawback than that. Maybe something like 10-20% tax that apply to everyone rather than 100% on only poor ppl.

1st redefine the poverty line to make it consistent with other OECD nations. Poverty line = 50% of national median income

Would it not be easier to just give everyone an income that puts them above the poverty line instead of making the entire thing reliant on the tax system?

So my incentive is to NOT have an income or work under the table so that I can get the maximum amount of money from the government right? Sounds like means testing with extra steps.
