You do realize that political platforms are aspirational? For example, Bernie Sanders wouldn't be able to immediately implement M4A if he won. But you don't come to the table bargaining based on what your adversaries want to do.

In case anyone is wondering, the US would still have a defense budget slightly higher than China or Russia if these cuts occurred.

Just to clarify this, the latest NDAA is $740B. A 75% cut would leave the budget at $185B, which is slightly higher than China's budget and higher that Russia's budget.
