I accidentally found myself reading US Green Party history late last night and I didn't realize how deep the tension is between the more liberal Greens & socialist Greens going back to the founding of the party. No wonder some demonize Howie, it's a personal feud at this point.
Green Partiers should be socialist by default, especially if the Democrat party stands and applauds Trump for saying America will always be capitalist.
I've only just begun to learn about the Green Party, and I definitely like Howie's working-class centered message, in addition to his actual working class background, which I find inspiring and relatable at a personal level. I am uneasy about dues-based membership, however.
I believe that the dues would have exemptions or reductions for those of us who can't afford full dues.
I recently registered with the Green Party in FL, and you've got my vote in November. This thread has helped me understand the appeal of a dues-based system. I wouldn't mind paying to support a vision for a better political model in this country.
