Negative income tax asks too many questions and has the potential to be very bureaucratic. It may not improve on the current income tax credits. UBI through its simplicity defeats this proposal. It benefits everyone therefore the rich are less likely to be against it.
Our #EconomicBillOfRights includes a guaranteed income above poverty, which has long been a demand of working-class movements. Our income guarantee also includes a #JustTransition for workers and increasing the poverty line to reflect a living wage.
