It’s being reported that another 1.4 MILLION Americans filed for unemployment insurance last week, but the number is actually much higher -- more than 2.3 MILLION.

The number of new unemployment claims is more than 2.3 MILLION b/c the reported numbers use seasonally adjusted data (which may distort the picture right now) and ignores Americans relying on PUA (such as self-employed workers).

And with permanent business closures now outnumbering temporary closures, jobs are less available by the day. Workers can’t just “try something new” when local businesses are closing for good.
