Here’s why the conversation over election rules can get so confusing: The premise of this article is that any standards (ID > signature, drop box numbers) are akin to suppression. Some of the changes from the 2020 pandemic rules, not GA law beforehand.https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/02/us/politics/georgia-voting-law-annotated.html?referringSource=articleShare …

2019 rules resulted in voters forced to wait many hours in line to exercise their rights. 2020 rules largely got rid of that burden on voters and showed us it can be done without widespread fraud.

I get it, but why revert back when it worked so well? The premise for the opposition is that there was fraud in 2020, which there’s no evidence for.
-
it didnt work out so well for the republicans tho, which is exactly why they want to implement this Law, Republicans only ever care about 2 things and will do anything to keep it, Power and Money, in that Order. this Law would make it easier for them to stay in Power.

We both know the GOP intent is to suppress votes particularly POC. Tying yourself in knots to deny and normalize that is not doing anyone any good.

It's ludicrous to pretend these 'emergency' measures were ever about the pandemic in the first place. We didn't re-organize our entire election structure in 2020 because of COVID. We did it because, prior to 2016, they convinced themselves they could never lose another election.
-
Imagine thinking a 2016 red state changed voting laws because they were scared Trump would win the state again 2020. What an absolutely stupid take.

That they are going back to bull shit pre-pandemic laws doesn’t make them any less bull shit post pandemic.
