i don’t really agree with this bc it doesn’t account for unpopular industries like healthcare but there’s absolutely a mentality that gains for some laborers come at the expense of all others. i think the taco bell stuff is part of that

Blue collar workers that are openly resentful towards this baffle me. Most just seem so gaslit by those that benefit the most from being in a higher financial class that they'll get sucked into some weird narrative.

As much shit Walmart gets I'm sure Sam Walton would spin in his grave to see what his kids did to the company. I'd go so far as to say they helped cultivate the mindset of those scoffing at a proper minimum wage. There's a bargain vs. trying to get something for nothing.
