(As an aside, I am tired of people using the language of mental illness and disability to explain apparently inexplicable or unthinkable acts of violence.)

It's human nature to attempt to explain unthinkable acts of violence. Simply stating evil doesn't cut it. Understanding behaviour is important not just to society at large but victims families and others directly affected.

Seeking to understand is essential. Making assumptions without evidence, I would argue, is not.

To prevent such events, it is essential to understand them, to understand why the person ended up doing such a horrific thing. We can only understand it IF we use the Evidence, the FACTs; NOT the assumptions & guesses & biases that many cling to.

I too hope we can learn something - from both Minassian & Bissonnette. We know enough already re similarities (Bissonnette bullied in school, followed RW groups/indiv on social media + Minassian socially awkward ? aspergers, found groups on social media - Alt-right incel)
