Barricades much further up. Police still holding station. Red flag up briefly.pic.twitter.com/rzaCJ7JRrj

Bauhinia Square. So near, yet so far. The kids really went for it, but courage alone wasn’t enough to drive back the security forces. Protestors scurrying like worker ants to rebuild everywhere.pic.twitter.com/mwHL4BDy7Y
With the flag-raising ceremony complete, police abandoned their fortifications made from giant waterfilled barriers. Protestors now on the other side plundering that area for barrier material too.pic.twitter.com/2POR2Ss9GC
The Black Bauhinia still soars at LegCo. I do not know what happened to the China flag that it replaced.pic.twitter.com/A6B8CpFCh1
Another group discussion about what to do next, a feature of this leaderless movement. All night two groups spent hours in talks: one planning what to do, the other discussing how to it.pic.twitter.com/lhUTpjKUSd
Another group discussion on Harcourt Rd. A call sent back down the line for the press to come forward. The people had things to say they need heard.pic.twitter.com/YrcE0TXVv2
Taking a stroll up the overpass that I livestreamed from earlier. Not a cop in sight now of course.pic.twitter.com/gD27flHr8w
The view from the top of the closed road. New barriers, food and water, and umbrellas (one of which I am taking shelter under to send these tweets).pic.twitter.com/RaDUBehFri
This happened about the same time, or just before, the push on Harcourt Rd in my livestream. Seems there was movement on Lung Wui Rd (the next road over to our left) concurrent with our attempt.https://twitter.com/kongtsunggan/status/1145531851936653312?s=21 …
The police had pepper spray, batons, riot shields and helmets. The protestors had shields made from swim floats. That, and courage.pic.twitter.com/dUV3afgdVj
Threading my 2nd livestream. Protestors briefly attempting to break into LegCo.https://twitter.com/hongkonghermit/status/1145565282410225666?s=21 …
This was the scene just before the livestream. Protestors using a barrier to attack Member’s Entrance 2. Heard unconfirmed reports Claudio Mo was seen unconscious. Police now on Lung Wo and in Tim Wa Ave.pic.twitter.com/BCloW0fUdw
Old fella went alone to confront the riot police in Tim Wa Ave.pic.twitter.com/kejudqXHXb
Police inside LegCo seen loading bean bag rounds.https://twitter.com/miekkorg/status/1145583691881566209?s=21 …
Latest is that CHRF has said the march will go on as planned, and to the planned destination. Then heard cops said it has to go to Chater Garden, but the area between Wan Chai and Chater NOT covered by letter of no objection. This kids could really use that backup right now.
Sitting on Harcourt Rd watching kids scurry to make more barricades between them and the Tim Wa Ave cops. Those police seem happy to just hold ground, and overall still seem aware a ton of people are coming soon from Causeway Bay.
I couldn’t see past the umbrella wall, but protestors were using a trolley to go at the LegCo entrance. One of the panels back there is heavily cracked, but that laminated glass takes a lot to break.https://twitter.com/denise_tsang/status/1145566331841867776?s=21 …
The same view from above.https://twitter.com/afp/status/1145573886429261824?s=21 …
Haha, after all that effort to defend the flagraising at the fortified exhibition centre, protestors went in afterwards and raised the Black Bauhinia there too. https://twitter.com/xscmp/status/1145568449780826112?s=21 ….
Harcourt Rd, 15:30. Police commanders appeared over the rise and protestors stand to, before the cops withdraw to their unit on the opposite side.pic.twitter.com/eJfzSO6iCB
Real air of tension right now. Green vest cops Connaught Rd end of Harcourt flyover. Green vest and black suit cops below us in Tim Wa. Large numbers of blue shirts over in Lung Wo. They seem to be at ease, but every small movement they make gets scrutinsed for intent.
Leaving the flyover. Can hear the march approaching.pic.twitter.com/lxX1IzZXEp
The July 1st march arrived at Admiralty. Some of the head of the march turned into Harcourt Rd and were met with thunderous applause and chants of “add oil”. Out on Queensway others were beckoned in, climbing barriers to join.pic.twitter.com/f1nQRQdP7C
Further up Queensway, those who chose not to go to Harcourt Rd directly, or to accept the first invitation to join, are offered a second chance. Everyone who crosses over in solidarity is applauded.pic.twitter.com/zaRybpiP3u
Every Hongkonger on the march now faces a choice. Choose to stand together, or just walk on by. More than half are choosing solidarity.

The police told them they couldn’t come to Harcourt Rd, but they came anyway. Filling up nicely now, the crowd spilling over into Tamar Park. Dads, aunties, grandparents, babies. The kids will now be safe for the next several hours as the police will not dare risk a clearance.pic.twitter.com/PJ4vblIs5l
Sudden calls for umbrellas on Tim Mei Ave.
Threading a livestream. Protestors spent 2 hours battering away at the glass walls of LegCo under the drum. Signal quality varied, finally dropped at the end. One glass panel already broken.https://twitter.com/hongkonghermit/status/1145622551453814785?s=21 …
