Last time I was there on my way down to Jericho I stopped at a Bedouin camp as you say traditional shacks. Spoke to the guy and he was on his laptop online. I was very surprised also.

Traditional would be a tent. That's shacks. Considering the situation, they have laptops and use a common Wifi or 4G connection, and a power generator for electricity. But don't expect cable internet.
