Confession: I've beaten every single main generation Pokemon game and I've never, not once in my life, seen a shiny Pokemon appear in game.

I accidentally caught a shiny Litleo on my first encounter with one and didn't notice 
It wasn't until @RType88 was watching me play over my shoulder that he told me it was shiny haha! Only shiny I've ever seen.

I can relate. My first encounter of a Gastly in Sun was shiny. I must of looked away when the animation happened and just thought it was an updated sprite. Caught it, and then my next encounter was a normal gastly.
