Right, big announcement time. Drum roll. Here be a thread. In August 2017 I pitched and was contracted to write what would become known as my Secret Project™. Over the following months I would continually refer to it as that, no doubt annoying all my Twitter followers. [1/6]

By the end of 2018 it was all written and I was finally able to reveal what the Secret Project™ was: my first book, the NES Encyclopedia. [2/6]pic.twitter.com/GSe2B9crcE

People are finally starting to get their copies now (following a customs delay and Amazon being shite) and I'm so proud and grateful for all the lovely feedback I've been getting so far at this early stage. However, I'm also fully aware not everyone wanted an NES book. [3/6]

The publishers and I have always envisioned this as a series of encyclopedias, and wanted to aim for at least one book a year. But the agreement was that we had to wait and see if the NES one would sell first, because it's so much work on my part and expense on theirs. [4/6]

We've now been able to check early pre-order figures for the NES book, and we're happy enough with the sales to continue with our plan. Hooray! So, what does that mean? [5/6]

Well, as of now yer man Scullion has been contracted to write another book. Let's call it... the Super Secret Project™ for now. No clues. Those of you who bought (and will buy) the NES book, you made this happen. Thank you so much for making sure this isn't Game Over yet
