I'm being sybil attacked today by anti-circumcision people trying to get me to interview their guy on my show. Here's a tip: ONE well-written email, not 2 dozen "have this guy on your show" fake emails. Now that I've been spammed, I will definitely not interview the dude.

It’s an ancient religious mutilation ritual. It’s bizarre that it’s still performed in our ‘advanced’ society.

it does have obvious advantages though. i'm sorry if i seem naiive or confrontational but i'm geniunely shocked there is actually a "movement" that supports banning circumcision.. are there any circumcised people within your movement? is this a religious thing?

Hi yes I'm one. It's not about religion, it's about everyone having the right to their own body. The "advantages" of circumcision are bullshit, irrelevant, and massively outweighed by the harm. It kills over 100 kids in the USA every year. And they sell the foreskin.pic.twitter.com/ZjWUh0MhXg

the problem is that the procedure is vastly more risky and painful the older one is. also i bet that a 100 kids die of a lot of otherwise uncomplicated issues in the US.. it's a huge country with horrible health services.. and the advantages are immense, especially health wise.

Not true though. Adults can lose a lot more blood without dying. Adults can get all the painkillers they want. It's FAR safer and less traumatic as an adult, especialy since it's YOUR decision and not something a parent forced on you without consent. Besides why get cut ever?

my dad had it done when he was in his twenties and said it was the most excruciating pain he ever had to go through. he HAD to have it because of an infection. an infection he probably wouldn't have had had he been circumcised as a baby. so had adult life with and without...

did he have phimosis? That should have been discovered earlier and taken care of, it doesn't even require circumcision to fix. Would you amputate your toes to be safe from hitting them at sofa corners? Amputate breast tissue of women to prevent breast cancer?
