Last week, I pointed out that had mischaracterized Frontier as having GHG intensity half the North American average. He knows that's not true. He repeated it in Montreal. () It's projected to be the median barrel, likely a bit above average.

How to get "unstuck" from carbon lock-in: I'm a couple of weeks late on this, but just read this great piece by & Steven Bernstein on catalyzing climate action.

We had a Science piece making similar arguments last year Main difference is PNAS piece takes a further step toward operationalizing the idea empirically. People will have different views on how meaningful that is. I think valuable, but assumption-heavy

Nice piece by on PNAS paper on social tipping points Their treatment is overly deterministic, in my view, so good to highlight research that makes related points, e.g. and Bernstein on fractal decarbonization

Also a reminder that we need a just transition, like now! Capital runs and leaves a wake of disruption--we should have been planning for this for a decade, but have to make up time. Now.

This is corrupt, even for Ford. 😦 Ontario wants to change the way judges are appointed, making it easier for political patronage appointments. Ontario is turning into a banana republic, because Dougie lost a few court battles. 🤦‍♂️

This has been all over Twitter. Lots of climate tweeps have been pointing to it as evidence that local food is just a romantic eco-myth - that if we really want to eat environmentally, then ‘the what’ matters, not ‘the where’. Time for a thread…
