If I wanted to play an older Pokemon game, what is the best/cheapest way to go about it? And which one should I play? (Assume I most likely don't have the older console to just buy the game) I have literally only played Sword on the Switch.
Emulating. Vgba for gameboy advance and Desmume for DS. /r/Roms has a giant pastebin of games to download.

You download the emulator, you download the game and then you just load the game in the emulator. There’s also a ton of guides online. Pokémon games run really well on emulators.
