I think the idea is that people fleeing with children can be driving quite the distance so these are provincial alerts. I think it's a small price to pay to protect the children but yeah, I keep my phone on my bed when I sleep because it's an alarm and this one nearly killed me.
Yeah I’m perfectly fine with getting amber alerts. I just think there should be a setting to say that between the hours I’m sleeping it shouldn’t create an alarm. I’m not going to go out and look for the missing kid in the middle of sleeping.

The real issue is Canada refuses to use the low priority amber alerts for things like this. They send the same level as a national disaster for a lost grandfather out with his grandkids since 3pm at 3am The alert that woke millions didn’t do anything. Toronto cops found them.

Like if there is an evacuation alert - I want it to wake me up at 3am. At this rate though it is becoming boy who cried wolf. People aren’t even looking at their phones they are just trying to turn them off.
