HOT TAKE ALERT 2018 HCT system was great for people with the time to grind ladder finishes and HCT points. 2019 Masters system allows those of us that are good at the game, but can't dedicate a ton of time, to be competitive. I like the new system.

My problem isn't the amount of time, it's the lack of flexibility in that time. Have a 9-5 job on the east coast? You largely can't compete. Have a kid that would be bummed you spent the whole weekend playing HS and not seeing them? You can't compete.
Being able to break up the 40 hours you spend on ladder a week is so much nicer than having to follow Blizzard’s open cup rigid schedule for 40 hours a week
