Imagine saying something so controversial as "I wish more women were invited to X event" and having men on the internet line up to demand you prove that women deserve to be there. Women don't need to be challenged to prove they belong. No one is asking the men to prove it.https://twitter.com/F2K_Nicholena/status/1118911470874570752 …

The 1/48 line isn't important? Lamenting on lack of representation is only helpful when looking at the factors needed to be a representative. In addition I think the low replacement rate for the league is a huge concern for women's future chances as well, and players in general.

I think the issue isn’t that 1 of the 48 invited players is a woman, it’s that that’s a perfectly reasonable representation of top players. Blizzard didn’t go out and create an unequal situation, it already exists. Vetle may be unnecessarily aggressive but he isn’t wrong.

Right so I think the best outcome is improved access to the league. For men and women alike really, as it is pretty poor in general with only two per region rotating out as it stands.

I rather see the league just expand than kick more than just the bottom two players out, but Blizzard probably doesn’t want to put more more money into this and Hearthstone isn’t close to being big enough to franchise
