i can tell you that being some number of years older than you that this is a new thing in the last 10 years, at least to this extreme
I’m pretty sure it was a post 9/11 thing up here. Like on one hand it sucks that it needs to be taught but I feel like it is something that everyone should know just in case.

It’s probably different for me since I was in a lockdown situation before with a shooter near the school but I never felt like there was a threat to me. I kind of just view it like a fire drill or even like stop drop and roll. I do think gun issues and this are separate.
