we had occasional stuff like fire drills and bomb drills but something like this is completely new and crazy to me
Yeah there was two different drills. Lockdowns for if there was a bad guy in the school or like a rabid dog or something and then there was secure school which was a calmer form of a lockdown where you just couldn’t leave the class in case an ambulance or something had to arrive

i can tell you that being some number of years older than you that this is a new thing in the last 10 years, at least to this extreme

I’m pretty sure it was a post 9/11 thing up here. Like on one hand it sucks that it needs to be taught but I feel like it is something that everyone should know just in case.

To be fair in 1st grade we had to go on lockdown cause an armed suspect ran from the cops through our school.
