Why not "discredited"? My fav. FedGov was profoundly undemocratic as designed, only the House was popularly elected. These are features, not bugs.https://twitter.com/GIMilner/status/1049039100131659776 …

It’s a total misreading of Madison. By “democracy,” he meant “direct democracy.” By “republic,” he meant “representative democracy.” He was criticizing the former in favor of the latter. Note both are examples of “democracy.” So “we are a republic not a democracy” is gibberish.

Noting that neither the Senate nor the Presidency was popularly elected as drafted, is a misread? Multiple firewalls between power and purple-bushed freaks on the steps of the court.

I’ve explained very clearly why saying “we are a republic not a democracy” literally makes no sense. But if that’s not enough here’s a law prof explaining the same thing.https://medium.com/@lessig/the-united-states-is-not-a-democracy-it-is-a-republic-54e8036c781c …

You're not actually going to reply to substance, are you? Eliminating the EC and turning the Senate into a House is a fundamental transformation anethema to the founder's government. Stop being a pussy and say that's what you want.
